The word Gospel means “Good News,” and it is the central message of the Bible.
The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ—the message of salvation, redemption, and eternal life through Him. It is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). Rooted in God’s love, the gospel reveals His plan to rescue humanity from sin and reconcile us to Himself.
1. God’s Holiness and Creation
God is holy and sovereign, the Creator of all things (Genesis 1:1). He made humanity in His image to glorify Him and enjoy fellowship with Him (Genesis 1:27).
2. Humanity’s Sin and Separation from God
All have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God and brings eternal judgment (Romans 6:23). We cannot save ourselves through good works or religious efforts (Ephesians 2:8-9).
3. Jesus Christ: God’s Solution for Sin
Out of love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life, die on the cross for our sins, and rise again in victory over death (John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Through His death and resurrection, Jesus provided the only way for sinners to be reconciled to God (John 14:6).
4. Response: Repentance and Faith
The gospel calls everyone to repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation (Mark 1:15). Those who believe in Him receive forgiveness, new life, and the gift of eternal life (Acts 2:38, Romans 10:9).
The Lord Jesus invites all to come to Him for rest and salvation (Matthew 11:28). If you recognize your need for forgiveness and salvation, turn to Christ in faith today.
