Baptism is a significant milestone in every believer’s journey with Christ. It is an outward expression of an inward transformation—a public declaration of faith in Jesus and a commitment to follow Him. At Masihi.Church, we believe that baptism is a biblical command and a joyful act of obedience to the Lord.
If you have recently placed your faith in Jesus Christ or have been considering baptism, we invite you to take this important step.
Baptism is a symbolic act that represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When a believer is immersed in water, it signifies dying to sin and being raised to new life in Christ. This is in obedience to Jesus’ command:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” – Matthew 28:19
Baptism does not save us—salvation comes by grace through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9)—but it is a visible testimony of that salvation.
1. Jesus Commanded It
Baptism is not optional; it is a direct command from Jesus for all His followers (Matthew 28:19). If we love Him, we obey His commandments (John 14:15).
2. It Publicly Declares Your Faith
Baptism is a way of telling the world, “I belong to Jesus.” It is an outward confession of an inward reality, just as Jesus Himself was baptized as an example for us (Matthew 3:13-17).
3. It Represents Your New Life in Christ
The act of being immersed in water symbolizes your old self being buried with Christ and your new life beginning in Him (Romans 6:3-4).
4. It Strengthens Your Walk with God
Baptism is an important step of faith and a marker in your spiritual journey that reminds you of your commitment to follow Jesus (Colossians 2:12).
1. Those Who Have Placed Their Faith in Jesus Christ
Baptism is for those who have repented of their sins and trusted in Jesus for salvation. In the Bible, baptism always followed belief in Christ (Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12).
2. Those Who Understand Its Significance
Baptism is a serious step of faith. We encourage believers to understand its meaning and commit their lives fully to Christ before being baptized (Luke 14:27-30).
3. Those Who Desire to Follow Jesus in Obedience
Baptism is not just a tradition—it is a step of obedience. If you have given your life to Christ, the next step is to follow His example and be baptized (Matthew 3:16).
1. Baptism Preparation Class
Before being baptized, we ask all candidates to attend a Baptism Preparation Class, where we walk through what baptism means, why it matters, and how it fits into your spiritual journey.

2. Personal Testimony Sharing
Each baptism candidate is encouraged to share a brief testimony of how they came to faith in Jesus. This can be done privately with a pastor or publicly during the baptism service.
3. Baptism Service
Baptisms are conducted during special services at Masihi.Church, often in a community setting where family and friends can celebrate with you.
1. Does Baptism Save Me?
No, baptism does not save you. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Baptism is an act of obedience that follows salvation.
2. What if I Was Baptized as a Baby?
The Bible teaches that baptism follows personal faith in Jesus (Acts 16:31-33). If you were baptized as an infant but have since come to faith in Christ, we encourage you to be baptized as a believer.
3. What if I Have Questions About Baptism?
We would love to talk with you! If you have any questions or need further guidance, please reach out to our pastors.
If you are ready to publicly declare your faith in Jesus Christ and take the next step in your spiritual journey, we invite you to be baptized at Masihi.Church.
We look forward to celebrating this joyous occasion with you!
